Retired in July 2006, Mrs. Moses-Felix served as Documentalist with the Ministry of Planning from 1989 and then at the Department of Information Services at the Office of the Prime Minister from 1998 to May 2006.  Mrs. Moses-Felix started her library career at the Dept. of Extra Mural Studies where she was chosen to pursue a Teacher/Librarian Certificate Course at the University of the West Indies at the newly opened Department of Library Studies in Jamaica in 1972.

Upon completion of the course she was promoted to Assistant Librarian at the Morne Educational Complex where she taught Library Skills to students of St.Lucia Teachers’ College and the Morne Technical College.

Mrs. Moses-Felix went on to further her Library studies at Fanshaw College of Applied Arts and Technology in London, Ontario and in 1987 was promoted to Reference Librarian at the Central Library. In 1989 she was appointed Documentalist at the Ministry of Planning where she described her new job as “being given a room with seven boxes of books, one chair, one table and told to organize a documentation centre.” Today, the collection stands at nearly ten thousand with 80% of the collection comprising Saint Lucian material.

Mrs. Moses-Felix has been actively involved in the Library Assistants Training Programme at the Department of Continuing Education, Sir Arthur Lewis Community College where she served as Tutor in various library courses from 1993 to 1999.

She has worked in various libraries: school, academic, special, bookmobile and government libraries and continued her training in library data base management in Brazil, Costa Rica and throughout the Caribbean; served as Co-editor of MedCarib News (Jamaica), Member of the Unesco Memories of the World Committee of Saint Lucia, and a member of the Editorial Committee of the Saint Lucia Civil Service Cooperative Credit Union.

Currently, she works as a Volunteer Librarian at the National Archives Authority of Saint Lucia and hopes to organize a “Friends of the Archives” in 2009.
